On the ground floor, the studio stays particularly cool on hot summer days. Free parking is just a few minutes' walk away.
The accommodation
Welcome to the Château du Roi,
Set in the heart of old Cahors, on one of the town's historic streets, this studio invites you to unpack in a charming setting, a few steps from the cathedral, the river Lot and the little lanes of the historic centre.
The studio is designed to give you a comfortable and pleasant stay, with a cosy living space, a comfortable sleeping area and an equipped kitchen, all in the unique atmosphere of a building steeped in history.
Bed linen, bath towels, shower gel, shampoo and a few coffee capsules (Dolce Gusto) are provided.
Here, everything is easy to reach on foot: no need to take the car to enjoy Cahors, stroll through the lanes, try the restaurants, have a drink on a terrace or walk down to the banks of the Lot.
A real break to switch off
For now, the studio does not yet have Wi-Fi and mobile reception may be limited. We prefer to tell you so openly.
That is also what the Château du Roi is about: a pause in the heart of town, to fully enjoy what surrounds you.
Guest access
The studio is reached on foot from Place de la Libération, 50 metres away.
Parking
The studio is in the heart of the historic centre, on a small street where you cannot park directly in front of the building.
To park for free, we recommend the spaces along the Lot, just outside the paid parking zone. They are a few minutes' walk from the studio.
To drop off your luggage, you can of course drive as close as possible to the studio, for example to Place de la Libération, before parking your car.
Other things to note
The sleeping area has a 140 cm double bed, with sheets and towels included.
A sofa bed can be unfolded to provide an extra sleeping place.
A building steeped in history
You will be staying in one of the oldest buildings in town, dating back to the 12th century.
Dendrochronological analyses carried out by archaeologists on the building's timbers have dated the ground-floor joists to around 1135. These studies make 98 rue du Château-du-Roi one of the remarkable surviving examples of medieval architecture in Cahors.
