Canoeing, Kayaking & Stand-Up Paddleboarding on the Lot (or on the Célé)
Paddling in calm waters at the foot of the white cliffs of Quercy
The Lot and the Célé are very calm rivers with no dangerous rapids, ideal even if you are new to paddleboarding or canoeing. Whether in Cahors itself, in Douelle or beneath the cliffs of Bouziès, the water is exceptionally calm.
Paddleboarding or Canoeing on the Lot: zero stress, 100% nature
Unlike turbulent gorges, the Lot around Cahors is a wide, peaceful and lush stretch of water where you can move at your own pace. In summer, you can rent a Stand-Up Paddleboard or a canoe at the water sports base in Cahors / Douelle (Antinéa in Douelle, 15 min away) or at the Caïx base (Luzech) to glide between vineyards and cliffs.
Our favorite trip: the Célé valley or Bouziès – Saint-Cirq-Lapopie
If you want to set aside a half-day for canoeing, head 25 minutes east to Bouziès / Cabrerets (Kalapca Loisirs or Nature et Loisirs): paddling down the Célé river (a wild tributary of the Lot with crystal-clear waters winding beneath huge cliff faces dotted with caves) is simply unforgettable.
You can also try other activities such as caving, via ferrata or via corda.
Rentals open from May to September. Life jacket and waterproof container provided, minibus shuttle service included for river trips.
Bring water shoes (or old sneakers) and pack a picnic in the waterproof container: there are plenty of small, quiet pebble beaches to pull up to and enjoy lunch with your feet in the water.
