Walkers' logistics in Cahors: bread from 7 am, supplies, pharmacy, post office & support car

Everything you need a few steps from the studio to treat blisters, fill your pack and set off light

Where can you buy a sandwich at 7 am before tackling the Quercy Blanc? Where can you find a pharmacy for blisters, send some weight home by post or park a support car for free? Here is your practical checklist.

1. Fresh bread, pastries & walking sandwiches from 7 am: Béziat Frères bakery (6 min on foot)

At 18 Boulevard Léon Gambetta (and in the covered market), the Béziat Frères bakery and patisserie opens from 7 am (Tuesday to Sunday). It is the ideal stop on your way to the Valentré Bridge for a coffee, croissants and above all a real crusty sandwich or a slice of quiche for your lunch break on the causse (there are few shops between Cahors and Lascabanes).

2. Mini-market (dried fruit, water), pharmacy (blisters) & post office (lightening your pack)

To top up your walking supplies (dried fruit, cereal bars, bananas, an evening meal to cook at the studio), Carrefour City (14-16 Boulevard Gambetta, 5 min on foot) is open 7 days a week. Several pharmacies on Boulevard Gambetta and rue Nationale can help with Compeed plasters, disinfectant or anti-chafing cream. And if your backpack is too heavy after the Aubrac and the Lot valley, the main post office (Place Chapou / Gambetta, 5 min away) lets you send a Colissimo parcel home!

3. Parking for the « support car » & luggage transfer

If you are walking in a group with a support car (or a friend or relative is joining you for the Cahors stage), bags can be dropped off quickly nearby (50 m from Place de la Libération), then the support car can park for free in the spaces along the Lot (Ludo-Rollès car park / Quai Champollion, a few minutes on foot) or for free in town from 6:30 pm to 9 am on weekdays and from Saturday 12:30 pm to Monday 9 am.

Béziat bakery from 7 am (Tue–Sun). Carrefour City open 7 days a week. Note: the studio does not have a washing machine.

Remember to buy tomorrow's picnic the evening before at the covered market or Carrefour City, or from 7 am at Béziat on your way to the Valentré Bridge!
