1. A complete overview to get your bearings on the very first day
The circuit passes through the protected historical district: Pont Valentré, Saint-Étienne Cathedral, Maison Henri IV... and even our neighborhood! It's ideal for spotting all the places you'll want to revisit later on foot at your own pace. The commentary also covers contemporary Cahors.
2. Schedule & prices
The train runs from early April to October 11. In April and early October, two departures per day (11:00 and 15:00). From May to September, expect departures at 11:00, 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00, with an additional 17:00 departure on certain days (daily in July-August). Adult tickets cost about €7.50 to €8, child €3.50 to €4, free for under 4s. Tickets available on-site the day of, or bookable the day before.
3. Our tip: combined train + boat ticket
From April to October, a combined ticket couples the tourist train with the "Boucle de Cahors" cruise on board the *Le Valentré* boat (about 1h20), whose dock is right below. Take the train in the morning and the boat in the afternoon: you'll see Cahors from the city streets and from the river on the same day, effortlessly. Good to know: the train accommodates wheelchair users able to transfer into a seat.
